Event Description:
Ever wonder why LEED NC wasn’t tailored for apartment or condo buildings? Well, now it is! Any building four stories or higher that is primarily residential can pursue the faster, cheaper, and more appropriate LEED Multifamily Midrise rating system instead of LEED New Construction. Learn all about this new version of LEED on Aug 23.
LEED offers a number of options for the certification of multi-family housing, particular if there are mixed uses (residential / commercial / retail). Trends in multi-family housing show an increased interest in high-density green urban living. This discussion will present the various LEED options and help participants choose the most appropriate certification path.

This session will introduce the new LEED Multifamily Midrise rating system, a hybrid between LEED for Homes and LEED NC, and discuss the streamlined and more affordable certification process certain buildings can go through to achieve certification as compared to LEED BD&C.
Speaker:
Jason La Fleur, Alliance for Environmental Sustainability
Jason has delivered this session to various audiences throughout the country. The program has been approved for GBCI and AIA credit.
