The U.S. Green Building Council West Michigan (USGBC‐WM) Chapter is hosting an informative session outlining the changes and anticipated updates to the LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) rating system being implemented nationally by the USGBC. The overview of the new LEED rating system – officially referred to as LEED v4 (formerly LEED 2012) – will be provided by Sara Cederberg, Associate AIA, LEED AP BD+C, a Manager in the LEED Department of the U.S. Green Building Council national organization. Ms. Cederberg is leading the LEED v4 effort on creating documentation requirements and improved review process. She directs the Indoor Environmental Quality Technical Advisory Group on the development of the next version of LEED as well as the Indoor Air Quality Performance Testing Working Group. She assisted in the development of LEED 2009 for Healthcare rating system, supporting documents and tools. Ms. Cederberg began her career as an architect and brings over nine years of experience to the USGBC. She successfully managed the certification of over 60 LEED certified projects across various rating systems. This presentation will be held on Monday, September 17 at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Secchia Center located at 15 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. This program will commence at 3:00 p.m. with a tour of the LEED Gold Secchia Center with the LEED v4 presentation beginning at 4:30 p.m. The afternoon will conclude at 5:30 p.m. Cost to attend is $15 for USGBC West Michigan Chapter Members, $30 for Non‐members, and $10 for Students.
